Lucy Bartlett

Lucy lends her hand to everything that is required. Lucy’s strengths are motivation skills, organisation and inspiring us all to achieve our goals. A keen skier and gardener she like to apply her extensive business experience to making all our jobs easier.

Alastair Ward

Managing Director
Alastair works closely with Lucy running the business. A chef who has worked for great names like Rick Stein, Michael Caines and Charlie Trotter in the past which brings huge food knowledge and a grasp of customer expectations. A keen hockey player and hockey coach.


Giles Prime

Operations Manager
Giles runs our accounts department and also operations and logistics. He is a keen figures man so not much get past him if you are late paying or if there is no remittance with the payment! A keen cyclist, Giles thinks nothing of cycling 100 plus miles and shooting up a hill or mountain.

Colin Welch

There is nothing Colin does not know about buying. He has been in the Food Wholesale for nearly 30 years and has encyclopaedic knowledge of the trade. Colin is a long suffering Ipswich Town fan.


Lucy Betts

Warehouse Manager

Lucy started her “Foodie” career as a Confectioner at 15 working in a local Suffolk bakery before moving to the wholesale sector.
She is a massive music lover and is often going to concerts anything from Dolly Parton to Dizzie Rascal - her favourite group to see is 80’s Pop sensation Erasure!!
Lucy is also a Tea loving documentary nerd and enjoys nothing better than a Sunday afternoon on the sofa with a Pot of Tea and a documentart in the company of her 2 snakes and 5 geckos.

Angela Juliano

Our resident vegetarian but she will happily sell our beautiful pancetta and cured meats with gusto. A quick witted mistress of the telesales department which she controls with fantastic attention to detail. No invoice leaves the office without Angela’s approval. An addict of handbags, no one has more. The last count was 78!

Hazel Breeze

Hazel knows cheese from cheesecake. She had 7 years of management experience running pubs in Suffolk before joining the Elm Valley team. With a sense of humour and adventure, she recently enjoyed the trip of a life time; exploring the Galapagos Islands and Peru.

John Cullen

John runs the night shift, manning the phones and overseeing picking and overnight ordering. He is a stickler for detail and articulate handover notes. A great family man who is hugely proud of his two sons. Hugely polite and regularly drawing compliments from customers.



Paul is chief picker. Paul’s strength is warehouse organisation his ability to organise stock Paul is a keen fisherman in his spare time.


A stalwart of the business and a firm customer favourite. No task is too great for Barry, helpful, consistent and his catchphrase is "I always deliver-on time". A keen fisherman when away from work so always expect tales from the riverside....



Tony used to be in the building trade before he joined Elm Valley 5 years ago. Like Barry, Tony is a keen angler and gardener, spending much of his summer spare time at his allotment.


Ben joined us a year ago and is the baby of the team. Ben is great with customers and works in the warehouse and cover drivers holidays on the road.



Graham mainly covers the A14 and A12 corridors. He is an avid car fan and has spent many a weekend at Santa Pod. Graham is also a dab hand at repairs around the building and is great with our vehicles.


Bernie is our newest team member and puts the rest of us to shame with his good nature and enthusiasm. He is always the first to put himself forward for the early morning runs and is already a customer favourite.
